Good luck to you. Considering the EURO vs the DOLLAR you may not get all at a price that you'll find over here. Its been known that these kinda currency fluctuations are sometimes absorbed, to a certain extend at least, by the company. Local shops won't comply since they will most likely deal in EUROs only. Or if they are next to a Base the excange rate won't be favoritable.
Thanks!! What is the VAT? Is that some sort of tax? I know that european taxation is more liberal than here.

Excellent point on the exhange rate. We'll just have to wait and see.

You've been to Germany and don't know VAT (Value added tax = Mwst = Mehrwehrsteuer)
(j/k)
Its in the double digits (~17%) and is inlcuded in everything you buy. Unlike the salestax over here which gets added at the end.

Me thinks that you have a lot more reseach ahead of of you. Whatever you plan for - carry money for double so you won't get disappointed.

Hey, I've got 6 weeks to fill my nagen with info.

I'm familiar with taxes always being included in purchases wich is great since you know exactly what you're paying up front rather than being surpised at the checkout counter. My experiences in Germany were all as a child and poor college student, and not as a responsible adult.

I glad to see you didn't write

Just messin' with ya. If you want some serious info PM me.

BTW, you do remember the rules of the road; review mirror and such. (j/k)

Everybody messes with me.

My childhood experiences in Germany were affiliated with the Air Force.

You sound like you've got an extensive background over there. Are you German? Do you have any kind of background with Mercedes? For me, owning a Mercedes was always a childhood dream since parents always drove Volvos. I still love my modestly sporty Honda, but it's time to move up.

I'm looking forward to it. 6spd 320 owners are a rare breed it looks like. I haven't been able to find one anywhere to test drive so I had to make the purchase on blind faith after driving both the 230 6spd and 320 automatic.

I'm curious if you've made any 0-60 timing runs on your car. I've read 6.8 seconds, but I'm wondering if ESP was engaged during those tests. Not that I advocate burning rubber, but I've heard unofficial times as low as 6.5.

I was actually born and raised there too, but I moved to the U.S. when I was 12. I lived in Rhein Main near Frankfurt, then we moved to Wiesbaden.

On the Mosel in Traben-Trarbach. In the Hahn, Bitburg, Ramstein, and Spangdahlem area.
