Checking oil and trans fluid without using computer

I don't trust checking my oil or transfluid with the on board computer. Are there any tools that allow you to check you oil and transfluid like you would with a regular car? Where can I get them?

SOMETIMES when I go to check the oil on the on board computer it just says perform service on time even though it has been serviced by a professional.

There is the dipstick like normal for the motor oil. Trans is the same but is the red tab that needs to broken if I recall and requires you to buy a new tab and the dipstick.

The computer is accurate. You just must wait until 5 minutes after shut down. Also, you can use dyno mode for an exact reading. Not sure why anyone would prefer a dipstick.. the less I have to open the hood, the better!
