Sounds like a good project
Keep us posted on the results if you get one custom made.
Also keep me in mind to get rid of the 3.67

Good Germans.. now all they need to do is make the SL's as mani's!
** note** they have too much power and the choice was made to make them auto only because the average driver would not be able to shift properly to make it faster. Fun factor went right down the crapper!
enjoy the c350!!!

since I have been reading its a pain in the @$$ to get it to work on an auto tranny. Too much computer BS. I read one guy was able to do the conversion on an auto.
the ecu would need flashing and a possible full remap.
to figure out what would be a good gear for you would be a matter of picking a top speed and finding out the difference from that to what your's is.
example:
current top speed 180 (a guess based on the rpm's maxing out in 7th gear)
your choice 140? or less since there is a speed limiter
28% difference
current gear 2.82:1
2.82 over X =72/100 (28%)
simple math... new gear = X? 3.91:1???
that is huge and will give the illusion of a power increase of 28% nuts!!!
BACK TO ME!!! find me a custom gear maker!!! bdavis2005 at gmail dot com OR PM me please.

Why is it there would be more of a headache with an auto, as posted earlier in the thread, mercedes use wheels speed sensors, not rear gear, correct? Can someone explain why you couldn't simply add a 3.69 rear differential to an auto without additional changes?

There is a link around here somewhere on this site...
with PN's of the tranny modules.
Thats for the 5 spd auto.
Each rear end ratio requires a different module, it's not part of the ECU.
If nothing else, perhaps if someone can find the thread it will show the location of the module, and someone can find the thing on the 7 spd.
and find the pn's for that tranny?
Or just resurrect the thread since lots of people seem to be having interest in this again.
