I've used the GR2's before and they're nice shocks for the $$. If you're not looking for an overly stiff ride I would say this is a good way to go (shock-wise, I can't comment on the springs). I much prefer Bilstein's over the Koni's, but either of those wil be stiffer that stock or the KYB's. My daughter's ES300 will be getting new shocks here shortly and I will be going with the GR2's (stock springs and I want to keep the ride close to stock, just a tad stiffer which the GR2's will do nicely).

Good thing about konis are that they are 5 way adjustable on dampening.

If you don't have the post facelift model 05+ I say get the ss springs and struts. Lower your ride a bit and factory components and it'll handle better.

SS=sport sedan. Its the 05+ models. They actually lower the car more than the C32 amg springs and are stiffer. Many members that don't have the SS package get the springs to lower their ride but keep OEM quality.

Shocks AND springs have an effect on the stiffnes of the ride (i.e. what yo ufeel when you go over a bump in the road). Some prefer to stiffen the suspension with stiffer shocks and others with stiffer springs.

To be clear, what year is your c230?

The GR2 will be a tad stiffer than the stock shocks, but nothing major. My wife hates stiff cars but was very happy when I put the GR2's on her Acura. To me it was a noticable improvement in handling without a sacrifice in ride quality.

To me it sounds like what you want to do is keep the springs if it's an 05+ and just get the GR2's, but if it's pre-05 the probably get the kit.

The Bilstein shocks will be stiffer than stock. I would venture to say the Koni's are too even on the softest setting.

If you go to each corner of your car and push down it should rebound right back up, if not then the strut/shock is blown.
