2002 C230 M111 engine "shut off" for a few seconds

Hi all.

I've had my car for a couple years now and this is the first time it has ever done it 110k miles. I was taking a corner and just as I was hitting the throttle, almost to the floor, all the lights on the dashboard came on and there was no throttle response for 2-3 seconds. It was like the car has shut off, or like when you first turn your key the first 2 clicks before you start your car. Then it all immediately came back on, lights went away and the engine resumed and worked just fine the rest of the drive home. Note that it was like 95 degrees outside, could that be a factor?

It's all part of the joy of Benz ownership. Just be glad that everything came back on. Unless it becomes a pattern, I would chalk it up to a minor hiccup.

Really? I've never had a single problem with this car and I bought it from my dad who has had it since new. He's never had a problem either and has only ever replaced things that wear out like fluid changes, brakes, tires, belts, filters.

Does that mean at a 100k miles that I should be worried of costly repairs beyond the standard maintenance?

Oh wow! I'm glad it sounds exactly the same so it might be the same thing.

How much does the part cost? Any DIY on it?
