Is it cheaper to get parts from Germany?

Planning to fly to Germany for a vacation and I am wondering if the price for side sunshades for my C240 is cheaper over there. My local dealer charges $106 for both the left and right sides. Any idea?

Thanks

Right now the exchange rate is not in your favor. But you will have a lot more options for aftermarket stuff. Be aware that everything will carry the high VAT which is included in the price. I would suggest that if at all possible you buy your stuff all on one ticket. Get a receipt from the merchant and also get the forms for VAT reimbursement. Once you leave Germany have that form stamped off by customs. You can then sent it back and get a refund of the VAT.
The other option here is that there are firms located in the airport that specialize in this. They will reimburse you right then and there; for a fee of course. Issue here is that they will want to inspect and make sure that you are really taking everything out of the country. This may be an issue because these firms are normally located in the duty free zone of the airport; after you've given up your bags.

Hope this helps.

P.S.
You might also want to investigate how much, $ wise, you can bring back to avoid import duties once you get back.

I'm not sure if you'd want to bring those home from Germany. They're rather large!
