A/C makes squealing noise?

A/C makes squealing noise?
So. it's A/C weather, and mine has been acting up.
Without the A/C on, the car idles, drives, and sounds fine.
Once I turn the A/C on if sitting at idle, I notice the RPM's come down maybe 100 or so, which is understandable, but it also starts to make a squealing type sound, particularly if I tap on the gas it does it pretty loud. Sounds like the belt is loose, but I just replaced it, and it's still doing it.
At higher RPM's it doesn't make the sound. And the system blows nice cold air.
Could something with the compressor pulley be going bad?

Forgive my ignorance, but does this issue apply to the 2002 c320 as well? I have the same squealing/squeaking when idle and low revs.
Can anyone confirm if this was covered under a recall or how much the dealer would charge for replacing?
