Need opinion on purchase and engine serial
Hey all,
I just joined the forum. I am looking into buying a used 2006 C230 from a private seller. The car is one-owner and it seemed well taken care of. The mileage, however, is 110k. A little on the higher side. We agreed on $10,800. I am wondering if it is a good deal. They are solid at $10,8. I looked it up on Edmunds and it seems the price is reasonable. All input would be appreciated!
Engine's serial is 30 277401 so i guess it is one of those unlucky one with the cam shaft issue... Should I proceed with the purchase at this point, I am not sure.

Heated seats, rain-sense wipers, electric shade in back, cd changer, amg styling. NO sear memory. Body is in excellent condition - no dings, dents, sratches. Interior is a little dirty but I think it can be cleaned.

Good price, reasonable risk if you have the records. You're assuming maintenance costs on a wonderful entry level Benz. That seems reasonable in my opinion.
Which means that if you get them to come down by $500, you've got them to pay for a few service A/Bs. That doesn't seem like enough to be haggling with. The miles seem a bit high, but the 2006 is late in the W203, so issues are known. Has it had transmission oil changes every 30K miles?

"Expect to spent about $1500-2000 in repairs within the first few months."
