2005 C230 Kompressor Fuel pump replacement.
Later they called me and stated that the fuel pump, and relay needed replacing at a cost of $1043. I consulted my local MB repair guy and he said they were way outta line, and he was bout 300-350 bucks cheaper and that the relay most likely did not need to be replaced but that is what the factory recommends.
My question is, do they have to drop the tank to do the repair? They are quoting 3 1/2 hours labor.
Is it worth having the car towed 50 miles (AAA will cover the towing) and have my guy do it? I would rather have the $$ go to my mechanic.
Don't mind pay for repairs (I love my car) but do not want to get reamed!!
the fuel pumps are under the rear seat and yes, 3 hours labor seems the time acceptable to do that operation. the fuel pumps cost me about 300€ each on mercedes oficial dealer (in Portugal)
So glad I chose it over a BMW 3 series!!
