Headrest issues

An interior panel on my C pillar was starting to popout so I got in the back seat and popped back in. While getting out I bumped my passenger headrest, and the front portion fell off.

The mounting mechanism looks complex, with some sort of tightened clamp with a nut in the middle.

Here's the back of the headrest. It looks like part of the plastic broke off in a center piece that would've formed a hole for mounting.

Any ideas on how to get this back on in the condition it's in? I tried superglue on the two "hooks" coming out of the mounting spot, but it didn't stay.

What year is it? If its not the 06+ active restraint it should be able to be replaced without too much issue. I say replacement because it appears broken and I have no idea how you'd mend that to make it work.

It's a coupe,... and since OP "bumped" into passenger headrest and broke it off,... I'm guessing OP is American. Coupe only sold in USA until 2005,... thus, no active restraint. Also it looks like a 2002 coupe,.... from the date stamp sticker the headrest.

That backrest piece that's still attached looks like it can slide down out of the way,.... you could probably bolt on metal plates on both side of that black plastic piece that broke off the front piece,... Once the fixed front part is bolted back on, it looks like you can slide that back piece back in and have it hook into the front.

But considering that a headrest is also a safety feature and has been engineered to act a certain way in an accident, I think you're better off buying a replacement. Salvage yard might be a good source but it'll be tough to find that colour.

I'm on mobile so it doesn't show any info on what the poster drives and the pics are too big for the screen so my apologies for not knowing it was a coupe.
