Aftermarket Amp/Subwoofer with Stock Bose System
Hi, i'm newly registered to these forums but I have been coming here for advice for awhile. After searching the entire thread for the past few days, I can't seem to find an answer to my question as it is a little more specific. So, here goes.
I would like to retain the stock headunit, and install an aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier. I had a box with 2 pioneer champion series subs, and a MTX thunder amplifier. I also have a power cap, but i can't recall the brand.
So, my question is, what needs to be done to wire up the amp/subs to and from the stock headunit? And, also, will the power cap be necessary or no?
I have been reading that I need to use a Line out converter, but from what I saw on the back of my head unit, it didnt look like it would plug into the existing speaker plugs.

If you replace your bose amp and speakers, then you need nothing else, connect the new amp to the stereo audio outs directly and then the new speakers to your amp.
Headunits are the same for bose and non bose, the difference is the wirings and of course, the bose amp and speakers.
