brakes and water

i was driving along when an ambulance started to come up from behind. i pulled to the right only to find my front right wheel in a huge puddle of water. huge amounts of smoke was coming up from that side. i'm assuming it was the brakes cooling off after driving and braking for so long. i'm just wondering since this never happened to me before, will this cause problems? would the brakes get warped and become messed up? i do not want to test it out, but so far at 45-0 seems ok. but i usually drive 80-90.

Smoke or steam? Does the rotor over there feel warped when you're going slowly and have the brakes on (e.g., catches every wheel revolution instead of smooth braking)? I'm guessing you're OK. Or maybe you could do it to the left side just to balance things out?

Your brakes are fine. You don't get your brakes hot enough in normal driving for this to be a concern.

If your steering wheel doesn't shake back and forth as you brake, you're good
