Central locking springs!!!

Central locking springs!!!
First up I know about, and a big thanks for, all the threads about removing/replacing central locking units to 'fix' the famous pogo lock problem.
What I would really love but somehow doubt possible is for someone to tell me where I can get hold of a new spring???
I have a 2002 s203 and 2 years ago thought ~£40 for a new locking unit from MB was ok, however now that they want £87+vat I would MUCH prefer to simply replace the broken spring.
Had the unit out (right rear, no airbag) no problem and even worked out (with help from elsewhere on here) where the spring needs to go.
If I can source a part this will take me less than an hour now and so I just cannot bear the thought of gifting MB £100+ because a £2 spring has snapped.
Any help greatly appeciated....

photo of your spring?
Usually on a set of cheap hex keys with key chain type,.... the spring for the 6mm hex key would do.
I did a hack,.... been ok for about a year now,... minor adjustments here and there but works.

I'll try and get a photo up later but its basically a small torsion spring with 2.5 windings and short legs heading off in opposite directions at about 135* offset

Thats my bug bear, Mercedes keep telling me they only have the complete unit for £87+vat, the spring in question is a few pence worth of component. So there is no part number.
This is my second bouncing lock now so I'm sure its only a matter of time before the remaining two go. There's a guy in Poland selling a repair kit for £26 but I'd prefer not to have a 3 week wait plus it still seems pricey.
