Engine swap and tranny change to manual
Hey guys,
Still working on getting my POS 2005 M271 engine repaired or replaced, and had a thought. Since I'm doing all this crap, who much work would it be to simply convert my current slushbox auto to a manual tranny? Are there electronics that need to be replaced, obviously some interior trim around the shifter needs to go, but how much of a technical challenge or nightmare is it? Who on the forum has done this? I really hate auto trannies, this is the first car I've ever owned that has an auto, so just thinking it would be nice to have a manual if it's not a technical nightmare to switch over if I replace the engine with a used one.
