Cool FOLDING MIRRORS

Hey guys, after buying the mirror glass for the 3rd time because the street i park in is to narrow, i've finally decided of upgrading my side mirrors to folding ones! my car is an 05 C230 kompressor, it has the manual seat postionting with no seat memory. What parts are needed to make it happen ? ive heard that the passenger door control unit needs to be changed ? if it does, does anyone have the number of this unit ? thanks in advance

Moviela- do you know if the door control module is plug and play for folding with auto lock- Or will it need to be coded with stars?

I got my car back from the dealer and there were only able to activate the drivers side power fold with lock/unlock and not the passengers side. They coded with starts both dcm and the front same.

My guess is my passenger dcm does not support this function.

For me it was. I really don't know if the software changes called "version coding" are contained entirely in the front or rear SAM, or if the action modules like the door modules are programmable. In the case of the passenger door module there is a hardware difference. The folding mirror needs a driver section to move the folding action motor, and a position feedback sensor input. You can live without the feedback sensor, but you do need the driver to actually move the housing.

I installed the module first and had the version coding done later. I really don't know if STAR Diagnostics alters the software in the door modules. My first guess is that the modules have unalterable firmware, and simply listen to CANbus commands from the SAM.

Good evening guys.. I've retrofitted the folding mirrors into my W203 2005! they work perfectly, but when i went to the dealer to activate the auto folding when locked and unlocked, as Charles stated, they only could activate the driver's side mirror to auto fold when its locked and unlocked, so when the car is locked only the drivers side mirror fold the passenger side doesnt! knowing that when i manually fold them from the buttons located inside the car both of them folds! plus the one touch feature for the window is gone now! even when i program it with holding the button up for 10 secs, it works for 2 mins then it doesnt work! ive changed the passenger DCM agian and still face the same issue! :S!
Any suggestions ?
