Driver side speaker randomly went out
The other day I was driving with the volume turned all the way DOWN, and I heard a loud pop or two from the front left bottom door speaker. It scared the crap out of me because of how loud it was. Knowing that it was the speaker, I put a CD in and turned up the volume. Everything sounded fine, but I could tell that the left side wasn't working.
To check, I panned all the way to the left, and faded all the way to the front. Nothing. No sound from the tweeter or the larger door speaker.
Now in the past, I've blown speakers, but only when listening at louder volumes, or sending distorted sounds through a speaker causing it to tear. But this time, the volume was all the way down and nothing was playing. It just died with a few large pops (similar to if you would bump cables)
Any idea how to fix this? I am not convinced the speakers are blown out. The sound came from the bottom left door speaker, and even if that one was blown out, the tweeter should still work.
Any suggestions? The off balance audio is killing me.
Thanks!

the tweeters are wired separate from the lower door speaker. theyre not wired like component speakers that have a crossovers. as tommy said remove the door panel and check the speaker and the wiring. see if any part of the wire is grounding out or exposed.
