Well, my 2005 C230K has gone on to its next life. I had intense second thoughts in the last 48 hours but ultimately this was the right decision at the right time. It was about 8 months sooner than planned but it was inevitable either way. I enjoyed the C230, thoroughly. But for now I needed something that wasn't going to require much of me, that had a long warranty and a local dealership. Given my excellent relationship with the local Nissan dealership that serviced the Mercedes from 25,000 miles up till the last service two weeks ago, the choice was pretty clear.

I wanted certain things and I wasn't willing to compromise on them:

1) It must have HID headlights factory.
2) It must have Bose audio. It's popular on the internet to bash them, but I like it.
3) It must have navigation.

I also didn't want to give up the fuel economy of the Benz, at least not drastically. The choice was clear:

This is the last photo.

They may be D2R and low-beam only, but check on the HID.

It has navigation, and that's the Bose logo on the center channel speaker. Check.

It also has a great "Around View" camera. Camera on the front, back, and both side view mirrors.

I stole it. I got it for $3,000 below invoice and it includes a lifetime powertrain warranty with no catches, service requirements, etc.

Again, thanks to all of you for your help over these past 4 years. This is a great community.

A very sad day on MBWorld. Can't go wrong with Nissans, though. Reliable vehicle. I am partial to Hondas(my first "new" car) but I think you made a wise choice. Thanks for the help along the way on here. Would never considered the Conti. DWS tire without your recommendation. Only been on this forum over a year but you have assisted in keeping money in my wallet

Well I'm glad to hear that... I always made it a point to service my Benz to the letter with only the best, but to do so as cheaply as possible. No sense in paying more.

The Rogue is my 7th car. This was the first time I was not happy to see the old one go. As I told Drew earlier today after the deal was done, yes I will definitely miss the C230. But there's a difference between missing it and regretting this decision, something I won't do. I wrote a little note and stuck it up under the CD changer with just the corner sticking out. It said "Dear New Owner, this is an awesome car. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did."

I will have a full list of items for sale in the next few days but off the top of my head I have:

Set of OEM W203 all weather mats used for about 5 months
New M271 Air Intake Hose
M271 Timing Chain
M271 Timing Chain Tensioner
M271 Timing Chain Guides
722.6 Pilot Bush
M271 Valve cover gasket set
M271 OEM water pump

Matt,

That's quite a different ride from your W203. It looks like it's got a lot of nice features. I hope you like it half as much as you liked you MB. Drive safely and check in from time to time!

Sorry to see you go, Matt. Best of luck with everything.

I got a 2012 Rogue SL (with 900 miles) as a loaner when the GT-R went in for service--I liked it! Good choice.

All the best on your new ride. I always enjoyed your posts, and I hope you find your way back (I had an Altima once upon a time).

Cheers to you and the awesome W203 pit crew here on MBWorld!

Matt, it has been a pleasure. I have always said that my love with the MB is strongly influenced by having a good relationship with where I have maintenance done. I think you have made a good choice for you location. Hope to see you again anyway! Take care.
