C230K rear ended by Ford Expedition
My C230K got hit (bumped pretty hard) by a Ford Expedition. Its airbags didn't go off so it couldn't have been going too fast. Still quite a jolt to us. I had visions of the Panoramic roof shattering in the last second before it hit.
Very little damage apparent by visual inspection. Bumper is skuffed and fiberglass (the area around license plate) is cracked. Small crack in left tail light and the rear deck doesn't close all the way, but from a small distance it is barely noticable.
Tried to take pictures, but the damage is so hard to see.
The Fords hood was buckled right at it front edge and plastic parts of the bumber shattered. Much worst looking than I would have expected.
Still ~ $3500 in damage just to the C230, that others insurance will pay.

Be thankful you weren't hit from the front. Wouldn't be surprised if an Expedition, due to its height, would ride right over your hood and wind up in your lap.

02 mb c230k
I also was involved in a rear end colision in my c230k....i was sitting at a bottom of a hill which was quite slippery after the rain we got....as i was sitting a red light a chevy cavalier lost control and rammed right into the backside of my car....i tried to get away once realizing he wasnt gonna stop so i threw it in first and started accelerating but it was too late...i got pushed ~50 feet onto the intersection and was expecting major demage to the car, much to much amazement it was just a bunch of scratches and gauges to the bumper and that's it....i bet the inside foaming is damaged as well as the bumper insides are rattling, but aside from the scratches you cant even tell from the outside that an accident happaned! i am very pleasantly surprised the car held up that well!!
i'm still waiting to hear from the insurance company to see what the estimate is, then it's straight to a body shop to get the damage fixed...it hurts me to look at my poor car all scretched up/damaged....
oh well, it could have been much worse....

My wife got hit like you guys in her Mitu. Don't forget to get depreciation on your cars. Also in this type of wreck, the underside pan may be damaged - take the spare tire out and look very close.
The best of luck!
