Noises?

Hi all, first post and looking for help.

I have a 2005 C180K Estate which I have had since the start of the year.

In the past 2 months I have heard two noises that I need some expert advice on.

Firstly when going over bumps I can hear coming from the rear a clanking. It actually sounds like a tambourine. Something sounds loose but I have taken both rear wheels off and had a look/feel around and cannot locate anything plus have removed everything from the boot area including spare wheel and hidden tools etc and still no luck.

Secondly I am hearing water movement seemingly coming from behind the dashboard. It happens when I start the car and when I accelerate hard I can hear it too. Wondering if some drain is blocked but need some newbie help on how to clear a clogged drain.

Thanks in advance.

could be your rear spring broken BOTH mine broke usually the VERY bottom coil with the wheel off look very closely use a flashlight

as for the water sound it may be your consensor drain pan holding more water then it should run the ac and see if water drips from under your car

OK well I have made some progress.

I read somewhere about blocked drains and to take the wheel off and the arch liner and check the bungs but they were totally dry.

On another forum post they suggested a windscreen bonding defect and so remembering that 2 months ago I had my screen replaced I checked it out and voila. Under the wipers the grey trim has come away from the screen. Called Autoglass back in and they are sending someone to sort it out.

Also saw in another forum the same suggestion about rear springs so thanks for that, will check that when it stops raining.
