245/40ZR18 diameter=25.8" Revolutions per mile=805
225/45YR17 diameter=24.8" Revolutions per mile=837
You would have a 4% speedometer error.
The 245/40-18's have a 1" larger section width. I don't know if that is enough to clear the front suspension and steering or not.
The largest tires recommended by Tire Rack in their Upgrade Garage are 225/40-18 for the front and 255/35-18 for the rear.
The section width of the 225/40-18's are only 01" wider than the 225/15-17's of the C7 package.
