value of C240 according to kbb.com

since i am planning on selling my car in a few months, i decided to check what kbb.com would value my car but using 2001 as the year instead of 2k2.

Anyone thing this quote isa bit too high?? just wondering?

Engine: V6 2.6 Liter
Trans: 6 Speed Manual
Drive: Rear Wheel Drive
Mileage: 9,300

Equipment

Slip Control
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Telescoping Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo
Cassette
Compact Disc
CD Changer/Stacker
Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-Wheel)
Leather
Dual Power Seats
Moon Roof
Alloy Wheels

Consumer Rated Condition: Good
"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. The paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. In states where rust is a problem, this should be very minimal, and a deduction should be made to correct it. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left.. A clean title history is assumed. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail; however major reconditioning should be deducted from the value. Most recent model cars owned by consumers fall into this category.

Private Party Value $30,495

Value

I could believe it if it was Canadian $. Hard to believe if it's US. What's that, 2% depreciation?

Kelly Blue Book is not a very accurate source.

Try Edmunds instead.

They gave it a price of:

Trade-in: $25,789
Private Party: $27,000
Dealer Retail: $29,142

2001 C240
If you find the right dealer the price can be great. About a month ago I went to my local Porsche dealer to look at some Boxsters. The dealer offered me $35,000 for my 2001 C240. Yes I said $35,000. That's more than the MSRP I paid for it. I wasn't in a position to buy the Boxster then, but I will be visiting him again.

A trade-in value is only half of the equation if you are looking to buy a new car. It really is only accurate if it is a "buy" offer without the required purchase a car (like CarMax does).

It is a common practice for dealers to offer you 'whathever you want on your trade-in' and just make it up on the new car purchase.
