C230K with V6 and manual transmission in EBAY Germany
I'm not German and I don't have any details on this car. I live in Japan and I was just shopping. I have read that cracking the AMG engine ecu to function flawlessly with a manual transmission is still a no-go even in 2012, and AFAIK this is still the case. Perhaps this non-supercharged version does not have the ecu issues.
EBAY Germany - Mercedes-Benz C 230 Sportcoupe Evolotion Sport Edition
I liked this car since it was introduced and I used to be a member at www.csportcoupe.com untill I got banned shortly before that site's implosion. These cars are extremely cheap today and with the growth of the internet, people have the ability to realize that Mercedes-Benz is not a luxury car maker but rather a full-line car maker that caters to every price point and that their engines are the same type of gasoline powered air pumps used for more than a century around the world.
The C230K has easily reached a price point to become a popular modded car and with this power plant, (although I would still prefer a manual C32 engine SportCoupe), it certainly can be a contender for young people who want "a drift car" a little different than the typical JDM cars chosen today. After all, although this swap looks stock, no research I have done shows this car to be factory.
This is my first post and hopefully its FYI and not useless.

Are you sure it is a 'K'? Kompressor may be one of the few German words I know and I didn't see it.
Matt, Was thinking about you this afternoon and hoping you'd make your appearance from time to time. Glad you did. I agree with your thought about the M272, BTW.

Or, this car could have been a special order somewhat like the C32 Coupe but not likely the owner still wanted C230 badges on the rear. If its a swap, as I suspect, its a very clean one. It looks like there are engine swap options and I know there have been threads here and elsewhere since the SportCoupe was released.

If it was swapped with the 350 m272.960 that would make more sense to me. The hp from the m271 1.8 supercharged 190hp and the the 230 m272 201hp doesnt make it seem like it would be worth it in my opinion. Either way the coupe looks beautiful.

It is most likely not a swap as this is not allowed with cars of this era in all of the EU.
What it probably is - a 204 hp M272, which was available as of MY2006. This car was registered November 2005 if i understand the german ad.

W203 slightly modified
What seems to be the problem with getting manual gearboxes working on American engines ? You delete option code 423 from the datacard and you add the option code for manual gearbox and scn flash the Ecu.
Has anyone tried ?

Americans tend to be pu$$ies and not want mannies, so I don't think anyone's really cared about trying.

Americans are lazy and like to sit in there car eating MCdonalds without having to shift. I wish they made more models with manual options. The new C250 would be cool with a 6spd.

It would be a great swap if it weren't for the fact that the 6spd manual has horrible shift action, possibly the worst in the segment.
I have lowered the oil level as stated by the service bulletin and uprated the fluid to RedLine MTL, but it is still like a ww2 Soviet tractor.

1.11.2005 Europe= 11/1/2005 in US.
It's a 2006, 2.5L M272 just like the sedans w/ about 200 HP.
So, you may be dealing with the balance shaft issue.
I don't care for the way these engines sound....Wrrrrrrrrrr...
And my 2002 w/ Pulley is faster.
The one to have of course would be the C350 6 speed coupe.
But sadly not sold in the US. And where it was sold, it was gawdawful expensive.
2006 was also a bad year for the 722.9 tranny (7 speed auto), so yes, you are better off with the 6 speed.
At 13 grand US (and with ugly cloth seat no less), you'd be better off with a low mileage 2002 for about 6K-7K, get tails, turn signals, Depo HID's, cheese grater grill, and an ASP pulley for an extra 1500 and call it a day.
You'll wind up with something like this.

Of course I do think she's beautiful...then of course, it looks like mine! Ha.
So, what the heck could anyone possibly do to get banned on csportcoupe?
Usually it was here people got banned for the mere suggestion of selling something. Not even having a product in hand, and just asking if people might want it was enough to cause a ban.

I didn't know Terry even banned anyone over there ever.
You have to admit that the cloth pattern on this car is much better than the one on the US cloth.

Yeah, really. So ishigakisensei, what could you possibly do to cause Terry to ban you? I mean, he didn't even filter language. 4 letter words were allowed.
YUK!!!!! Both are YUK!!!!

I was so glad when I tipped a whole pizza on my cloth seat, which allowed me to rationalize why I needed leather seats.

Ha, or even better, that guy who had a can of paint explode and he got all leather
for free courtesy of the insurance company.
It was cheaper to get leather installed than the stock cloth seat replacements.
