MZB 2006 C230 <<Code P0422 >> Help
Forum help would be appreciated helping troubleshoot engine code PO422.
Mechanic is quick to point out catalyst converter replacement (visual/minimal check) which is dubious as the car has been well taken care of by single owner in CA and only has 80K miles. Any solution suggestions would be appreciated (trying to avoid the dealer).
Issue:
> Check Engine Light (CEL) is on
> Engine code PO422 (main catalyst efficiency below threshold); potentially bank 1
Background
-Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W203) Sports model (4DR)
-Yr: 2006
- Mileage: 80K
- Car runs perfect
Previous major work done in past 3 months: replaced cylinder 2 Coil .

Have the code cleared and see if the codes comes up again. If it does it's probably the cat or o2 sensor but most likely the cat. You can get a universal cat for way less than the OEM one
