The fitting looks completely different. Some type of easy-off type thingie (technical term).. You probably would have to change the entire arm if you want them.

I can attack the people at the side of the car when I'm driving my sister's car and try to clean the window. The one wiper design was the dumbest thing MB had put on their car since the E and 190E from the late 80s.

Actually the wiper setup was ingenious aside for the fact that it would streak easily if the blade was dirty or worn out.

The centre mount allowed for as little wiper lift as possible at high speed driving on the Autobahn. Why do you think DTM cars have only one wiper mounted in the centre?

Not only that but it covered something like 85-90% of the windshield. A far cry from what many domestic vehicles have even today!

yeah, I know it works better and all that. But my point was that the one wiper on cars like our E, CLK etc causes window washing fluid splatter all over the place.

The DTM has their one wiper in the center and in a straight up stoping position to reduce drag. They also only have one wiper because there's only the driver in the car. I've seen wiper on some of the DTM car only clean the driver side of the window.

When not in use, it stands vertically, thus ensuring the least contribution to drag which is a factor at DTM race speeds. To the contrary, the MB's single wiper rests horizontally, so no gain here. But it certainly looks soooo cool! That alone adds to the MB's (along with Jaguar, BTW) panache, I've always perceived it that way.

Does anyone have any more information on the 2004 mid-year update on the C-Class?
