Battery Question

My wife's 2006 C350 has been in storage for six months with the battery disconnected. The storage unit has no power so I was unable to keep a trickle charger on it.

When we return next month I'm going to assume the battery is flat.

I have researched the forum and found different answers for my question:

Can I jump start the vehicle or do I need to first have the battery recharged?

Thanks in advance!

My ML320 is usually in storage for 6 months out of each year. I also disconnect the battery before storing. I usually re-charge the battery, then start the truck. That's what I'd recommend you do the same.

Follow instructions from owners manual on disconnecting-reconnecting (changing) battery,....

Recharge battery via trickle charger only. Mercedes-Benz OEM trickle chargers are by ctek

Doesn't say much for German electrical engineering or that the car is a tourer.
You wont find a Mr. Battery in the bush!! Your only option if you have left the lights on will be to take a jump from a Toyota Landcruiser.

I think you can lessen the chances of damage to SAMs ect by jump starting by.

1. Having ignition off & key removed.

2. Lessen voltage shock by having donor car engine stopped ie 12 V vs 14 volts.

3. Connect jumping leads in the correct sequence & do so quickly & firmly to minimise sparking.

I understand the the later 203's are as not as sensitive to damage as the earlier ones.
