We don't like those reviews on these forums and don't like talking about them because for some unknown reason, the Beemer always win. I think the magazines are paid off because I've driven both back to back on a track and I just don't see the allure of the 3.

comparison test are always gear towards the one that is more fun to drive which is the 3-series. C-class is getting there, but it's still more focus on the luxury/comfort side like MB always do.
if you want to read about what they really think about the cars it's better to find tests that are done with just one of them, so their comment won't be influenced by the way they feel about the other car.

I always see more women driving BMWs than Benzs. For some odd reason if you take a look at a wealthy couple you always see the man with the Benz and the woman with the BWM. Not sure how it all got started but it did. I would take an AMG over a girly M3 any day.

all my friends that drives a C240 are girls except that one guy. Oh no, wait, he was force to get the C240 when he wanted the C230k coupe because his sister would drive the car as well. Hmm...oh yeah, and some other guys that got the C240 because they can spend the extra money on mods instead of getting the C320.
guys I know have M3, C320, 330Ci, C230k sedan, CLK55, SLK230, S500, etc. When I asked, they would pick even the Accord v6 over the C240. They said only old folks and women drives that car.

Hmmm... I see just as much or even more so women driving C240's... I look in the parking lot here at work and I'm the only one that drives a C230K coupe and I would say a majority of the BMW's are driven by men... I see 7 C240's and they're ALL driven by women...

I was at the Benz dealer today after work...picking up my car after they replaced the dented grille.... there was no less than FIFTEEN C240's there...all with HUGE yellow stickers that say $5000 off! Ask the salesman, and you can get even more off than that...they want them gone. Salesman said they can't move them for anything, and that its embarrising to have an entire row of cars with a 5000 rebate on them.
I think the C230 Sedan has made the C240 irrelevant. BTW, not a single coupe there- salesman said they go as soon as they get them in.
It was so nice getting back in the coupe, and getting that instant shove back in the seat...unlike the "oh crap, I'm gonna get rear ended" pace of the C240 auto. My mother liked the C240, she said the ride is too firm in my car....so, you do the math B.O.
