Help on Lowering and tire Size

Dear friends!

I come to you with two questions? I just purchased a 2002 C 240 and ordered some new rims (Sigma by the manufacturer Ace) the size of the rims are 18x 8.5 front and rear! What tire siz should I get on the front and rear! I was told I can go with a wider tire on the rear than than the front, which is what I prefere since I will be driving on the Autobahn in less than 2 months, But i also want to lower the the car just a tad bit, becuase I am sure the low profile tires will leave me with a nast ugly gap. I sure.l do not want to rub my fenders like I did on mu last piece of crap car (1997 Acrua 3.5 RL). So if any body out there can help me please e-mail me at!

Well since this is a thread Ill just post my response.

I think you should run 225 40 18 all around or 235 40 18 all around. I usually see what tires are cheaper and get that. If they are about the same then get the 235, also why would you run wider tires in the rear on the same width rim? I dont think it will look much better and if you run the same size you can at least rotate them and get a better life span from your tires.

As for lowering, it just depends on what kind of ride you want. Some springs are like stock i.e. Brabus, some a really stiff but lower really little Eibach, some are more lower and offer a good ride H&R and Vogtland. There are lots of springs, you need to first decide what type of ride you want.
