yes it has to come out for the M271 engine to swap the VR
, it is a little tricky and you need a variety of extensions, the reverse torx sockets, a T60 torx socket, some universals and some mechanical ability as it is buried deep and tight to get at
Here is a detailed DIY, I also added my own notes to the exercise which I felt was needed in addition to the original procedure
