Mobil 1 for $4.39 per quart @ PepBoys
You Americans are so spoiled!
Pepboys has a coupon for $29.99 for 5 qts or 5.1 quart jug of Mobil 1 with Mobil 1 oil filter - expires end of the year. But it can't be used with any other offer including the $20 off of $100 purchase or more.

BUT,....
The PepBoys weekly ad (Dec 16-24) have Mobil 1 motor oil (including our 0W40 & 5W40 ESP if you swing that way!) - 5.1 quart jug for $27.45 (limit 2) or 1 quart bottle for $5.49 (limit 12). So I bought the 5.1 quart jug since it works out to $5.38 per quart.

Then you add the $20 off coupon when you purchase $100 or more,... it's like getting 20% off.

Since there's a 2 limit on the 5.1 quart jug and 12 limit on 1 quart bottle. You can buy two of the 5.1 jug and nine of the 1 quart bottle to subtotal of $104.31 for a total of 19.2 quarts,... add in the $20 discount for a total of $84.31, and it's like paying $4.39 per quart of Mobil 1,.... holy crap that's like paying the price for regular motor oil and getting Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil!!!!

When I was at a PepBoys store in Buffalo a few days ago, I asked if I could use that $20 off on purchases of $100 if I buy the Mobil 1 oil (since it was on sale already and I remember the fine print saying not in conjunction with other offers) and the sales guy said "As long as your total is $100 or more we'll give you $20 off on ANYTHING you buy in the store."
I originally, tried to purchase three 5.1 quart jugs of Mobil 1 0W40 along with a Mother's clay bar kit ($19.99) and 3M carpet cleaning foam ($5.99) since spending at least $25 on wash and wax products would get a free PepBoys plastic wash bucket ($4.99 value). When the PepBoys guy rang up my bill, the computer gave the $27.45 sale price on only two of the 5.1 quart Mobil 1 jug but the regular $37.99 price on the third jug. WTF,... turns out there's a limit of 2 so third jug is sold at regular price. Thus, instead of buying the third 5.1 quart jug of Mobil 1,... I got three 1 quart bottles of Mobil 1 ($5.45 sale with limit of 12) and a $4.99 key chain. When the PepBoys guy tried to ring up my bill again, it seems he was having difficulty on the computer accepting the $20 off on purchases of $100 or more coupon (now I know why, its the oil!!!),.... so he just voided the price $19.99 price of the Mother's Clay Bar kit so that's how I got the $20 off! I guess it helps when I was checking out at their 9:00pm closing time,... and they just wanted me out of there so they can go home!

In Canada, CanadianTire (similar to American Walmart or K-mart type stores with a bit more focus on automotive products) sells 1 litre bottle (similar to USA 1 quart size where 1 litre = 1.05669 quarts) of Mobil 1 0W40 for $11.99 CAD (note currently Canadian dollar is basically on par with USA dollar now where $1 CAD = $1.0129 USD). When CanadianTire has a sale on Mobil 1 it'll usually go down to $8.99 CAD or sometimes $7.99 CAD for 1 litre bottle of Mobil 1,... and before the sale never included 0W40 but now they usually do. For whatever reason, the 4.4 litre jug of Mobil 1 isn't available in 0W40 in Canada. And they don't sell the 5.1 quart jug of any grade of Mobil 1 in Canada.
Now, do you realize why this Canadian is so excited to have brought Mobil 1 at $4.39 USD per quart.

I just took advantage of the $29.99 5qt w/filter deal x2, however, I was able to convince the sales person to let me swap the M1 paper cartridge filter ($19.99) with the cheaper Purolator L25277 ($12.99) which as many of us know, is actually a re-boxed Mann HU 718/5 fleece filter. The exact filter specified by Daimler for many of our cars.
So, 10 qts of M1 0W-40 and two fleece filters for just $63 with tax. Sweet deal. Next time, I just need the oil. (My E55 will use most of the 10qts with this oil change.)
That's basically $3.70/qt of oil if you subtract the cost of filters!
