Batt/Generator Warn Light & Burning Smell?

Hello everyone.

I have been searching this forum for a while looking for an answer to no avail.

I was hoping someone could help me out with this issue.

I have a 2002 C230 Kompressor with the following issue:

Upon startup, The Battery/Generator red warning light flickers on and off once or twice. When I rev the engine it goes away and the headlights come on. This is intermittent and does not happen on every startup. My concern is that during driving I get a burning electrical smell inside the car. I opened the hood and it is coming from the engine compartment somewhere. I checked the battery leads and they are clean, not corroded at all and tight.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Vehicle Info:
I have the following issues pending repair:
- O2 Sensor needs to be replaced
- Coolant temp sensor/thermostat needs to be replaced ( vehicle stays around 60 degrees when driving ) Also have a fault code for it.
- Just replaced both control arms a few days ago.

Thanks so much in advance.
