Bose Amp add on?
Attached is a photo of the right rear access panel, there are a bunch of cables coming out. One says AMP.
Could these be the factory wiring for the Bose Amplifier? If the car comes prewired those of us without Bose could but the Bose amp and install it in the stock position?
Anyone out there with the factory Bose option that can investigate and photo the Bose amp?
I will eventually put MB Quart speakers in, but all better speakers need more power than the stock radio. This would be a perfect upgrade for those of us with the Audio 10. Even our stock speakers should sound better. :p

Those cables are for the telephone. I was told this by Steve when he installed my COMAND. The orange "wires" in the pic are fiber optic cables.
The Bose amp is located behind the airbag door on the right side of the back seat. The bass module would be in the location shown in your pic if you had Bose. It is connected to the Bose amp by copper wires.
Pics of the bass module have been post on this forum, if you care to search for them.

Also, I have the Bose sound upgrade; that means I can't do any aftermarket stuff to it right?

Hey tifosiv, after changing the headunit, can you say that's what caused the seemingly low-quality sound from the Bose system? 'Cause it'd definitely save some money if I don't really need to replace the speakers or amp at the same time.

If you lived in NJ i'd be more then happy to let you hear it...but I know you live out in CA.
The only time I really don't like the system is when I drive with my windows down and the top open...at highway speeds its hard to hear the radio or CD.
