and walked out with an SLK230 loaner! Yeah, I had to take my car back in for a couple of "B" service items that were skipped (brake fluid change, tire rotation), plus another look at the sway bar noise. They gave me a bright blue SLK automatic. It's fun with the top down, but doesn't feel very quick. An SLK320 would be much better I think. Anyway, I'm waiting to hear if my car will be ready or I'll have another day with the "roadster". Putting the top up or down is quite a show...

Well, it is quicker than my C240 in some ways, like when flooring it, but since I've got a 6-spd and the SLK is auto it's harder to compare. The transmission performance seems a little "sloppy" at times and in general driving, the engine doesn't seem "strong" -- it downshifts a lot. I think the 320 verson would have a lot more torque and smoother performance -- probably a whole different car.
This is just my opinion after having driven it a toal of about 35 miles!

Which Maryland dealer, if I may ask....
EuroMotorcars in Bethesda. BTW, they had a sign up when I dropped off my car that they now only offer free loaners to customers who purchased their car there. I guess they used to give all customers a free loaner. They have a fleet of about 250 Mercedes they use for loaners -- all late models. I once got an E320 sport -- nice.
