front pads clunking

i bought my pads from autozone the "euro" style and balo rotors

along with that i replaced the front outer tie rods, all control arms, sway bar links..and made sure the rack bushings werent making noise

my mechanic who did all the repairs worked at a ford dealership for six years and used air tools to tighten everything up

after that i went to my mercedes mechanic and alignment place and at that point their was no wheel play..they even let me pull on it everywhich way.. my alignment is spot on right now

then when im park for about 10 mins and crank the wheel to get out of a parking spot i hear "clunk" clunk clunk.. very soft tone

i told my mercedes mechanic and he said the pads arent a perfect fit..but he put in new 4 brake pins on the front..he said they were binding

this all started happending when my driver side had a clunking lower balljoint then the pad started grinding before my passenger.

thanks

Did you replace the retaining springs/clips with the pads? I had a 'clunking problem' at some stops and that was the culprit. The rotation of the disc lifted the pads and the "clunk" was them dropping back down. Pull the tire and lift up and down on the pads and you'll see there's play and the springs/clips keep them from dropping.
