HELP! 05 C230 SS rear wheels keep turning in snow, ice!
Had a scare the other day in the last powdery snow we got, I went to stop and came to a full stop, brake pedal all the way down, then the rear wheels started to spin again --with the brake the whole way down! I had to shift into N to stop. Brake fluid is fine, could this be just worn pads or brake line blockage? Any ideas? It only does this when tires can't get a grip, but even when it's dry it seems the car wants to lurch forward immediately after releasing brake pedal pressure.

I am pretty sure if you had brake line blockage there would be other serious symptoms. You may need rear brake pads, get that stuff checked out. Obviously you have no brake power in the rear so the fronts are doing 100% instead of the usual 70%.. that can't be good.

UPDATE:I picked up some new rear pads and went to change them this morning. The old pads were just as thick, however, there was no anti-seize on the pads and the holding pins were a little rusty and gunky. I put anti seize on the pads and on the pin after reinstalling. Braking feels much better. I also had some occasional engine stall like buffeting when coming to a stop, that has since disappeared, so far. Lilbenz230, thanks for the input!
