Hi

I have to replace about 1 litre of oil a week in my car and I don't think that is right.

I have been trawling these threads and I cant find any info. Upon investigation I found a broken pipe with oil all around it. I have a picture attached.
Could this be the reason I'm losing oil? What is this pipe called and what is it's use. Is my car safe to drive?

The guys at the mechanic told me it's ok to drive and i should ignore the CEL however since they couldn't even spot a leaking pipe and report it to me I'm not sure I should trust them.

Any advice would be appreciated.
