2005 C230 downshift "lurch"

2005 C230 downshift "lurch"
Hello all. Been reading since I bought my car in January.
First things:
5speed
Current mileage 105k
Xmsn replaced or rebuilt @75k
Symptoms:
When I crank my car it literally rolls forward similar to when you cut a car off and let off the brake and it rolls till the park gear catches.
While in either sport or comfort mode: coming to a stop the car seems to downshift as if I was using the gear selector to downshift while at speed. The Tach needle jumps about 200-300 rpms and is most noticeable from 2nd to 1st in sport and 3rd to 2nd in comfort mode. Ith happens in higher gear downshifts nut now as noticeable.
What I've tried so far:
Checked the fluid level. I found this hard to do even with the special dipstick from Mercedes. Im a mechanic so I believe I'm competent to read a dipstick but it seems like if anything there might be too much fluid. I feel like the plastic indicator tip on the dipstick bends when it hits the bottom of the pan. I thought about getting an adjustable steel one from the store and trying that.
"reset" the trans by holding the pedal down for 15 seconds then turning the key off and just sitting there for 2 minutes. Seemed to do nothing. I saw that on a thread somewhere and thought I would give it a shot.
I'm taking it in for any recalls or campaigns next week. Just thought I would ask on here as I know that there Is a lot of experience here.
