Driver seat does not tilt forward
hi all,
So this is my first thread
I have a 2005, C230 Kompressor Sedan and I've got a little bit of a problem with the driver seat. It does not want to tilt forward anymore (or very rarely), however it tilts backward, up and down also works sluggishly/intermittent.
Initially when I bought the car back in 2008 all the power seat options worked fine, then gradually I had to click couple of times for the motor to engage.
Now the up&down adjustments works after the 3-5 click, backwards I'm scarred to do it anymore, adjusting forward nothing. Last time when I was able to adjust it forward it was like 5-6 months ago, after spending some time clicking backwards (which reclined the chair too much) and forward, but eventually it worked putting it forward from the very reclined position.
Is there any way to adjust it manually ? (disengage the power seat)
What could be the problem ? I've read a bit around, folks are mentioning about fuses, i haven't checked out those yet (although I think due to fuse it wouldn't work at all), perhaps some relay ? The passenger chair power options work fine.
Thanks in advance !

That's a strange problem, however I had a similar one on a C320 I worked on. I ended up reaching under the seat and unplugging the power line to the control module (just a clip that pulls out) blowing some compressed air into and and plugging it back in and that fixed it. I'd try that and if it doesn't work it may just be a bad seat control module.
Hope this helps,
Tim

I did what funnyent suggested and indeed I think something is going on with the physical connection. I unplugged the links under the chair, blew some air and plug it back, it worked but only for a short time while the plug was into a specific position I guess, I'm tempted to say it's a plug/connection issue. I haven't got a chance to completely investigate and repair. I will come back once I figured it out. Thanks
