I am going to college in 1 week.... i want to knwo what to do about storing my car....
Im gonna be gone for 4 months and my car is going to be out side.

1. Should i bother to buy a MB cover or is it not worth it.. Keep in mind i have black metallic paint.

2. Should i disconect the battery or leave it.

3. should i leave it with a full tank of gas or leave it empty....

4. is it gonna start 4 months from now or is the battery gonna die

advice

1. Wax the car and do not cover it. If any moisture gets under a car cover, it'll damage the paint. Outside, there can be condensation, or the cover could have a leak. Don't waste your money.

2. Disconnect the battery unless you have, and will need, the alarm working.

3. Fill the fuel tank; it'll keep condensation at bay.

4. It's a variation on 2. There is a possibility of the battery draining a bit over 4 months, which is why I advised to leave it disconnected (preferably out of the car too).

Why don't you leave it at your parents and let your dad give it a run once a week. I couldn't imagine just leaving the car there on the road for 4 months, even if in a good neighborhood.

Waxing will only protect the car for about 3-4 weeks...probably less if left in the sun all day. If you do decide to get a car cover, get one made by Noah...they apparently allow the car to breath.

Or put the car into storage.

You could always rent a storage unit or let a family member drive it while you're gone. My sister would love to have my car for 4 months.
