Had Transfer Case Fluid Changed Today
I recently bought a 2006 C280 and got the car home and immediately noticed rumbling when taking tight turns. Ah, you say, old news! Well, new to me. I immediately hit the web and discovered a lot of posts regarding replacing transfer cases for $5,000. Well, I also read about replacing fluid as a possible solution, so I figured what's to lose? I got the car back after my dealer charged me $224 and was immediately relieved to find about 98% of the rumble was gone. I will continue to update as time passes to help others in the same position. From what I've read in other posts, this fix mayl last about 30K miles before need to redo. We'll see what happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.....
