Brake Rotor allen screw

I was replacing my brakes on my 2002 c230. The new rotors dont have the same allen screw holes. Do I need the allen screws that hold the rotor? Ive never seen these screws on rotors in the past. Ive tried to find my answer, but to no avail.

It is not necessary. Once the wheel is on, it will be firmly held in place. I believe the head of the bolt should be a torx head. But, doesn't it look like that one hole on the new rotor should line up?

Also, obviously check to make sure you got the correct rotor.

You only need the one hole for the torx screw to hold the rotor in place as long as you have one lined up. I don't feel comfortable with it not on even if the wheel holds it in place because if a wheel becomes unbalanced it can cause the rotor to wobble which then can cause it to have uneven wear and so forth. Or if the lugs become loose it can also cause the rotor to wobble

rotors

Ok, thanks for the replies. I talked to the company that I bought the rotors for. He is telling me that its the right part number. Ive done brakes on several hondas and chevys, and every time I remove the caliper, the rotor pulls right off...no allen/torx screws to hold in flush. I think I might go ahead and install theses. It has 5 lug bolts to hold it on. I was just wondering if anybody else has done this and been safe?

with brakes I usually make sure its quality parts. I would have gone with ebc, stoptech, or oem or a known proven company.

you can always test them out and see if its ok

how much you pay for them because looking at tirerack for your car you couldve gotten some powerslots for 81 per rotor or stoptechs for 67 per rotor.

I paid $90 for them. I thought they looked cool. lol I like the gold look to them. I might test them out and see if they will work. I was just wondering about the little holes. As long as they don't wobble and I can stop, I might be ok. lol That is a good price for stoptechs though.

An unbalanced wheel will not make the wheel or rotor wobble...you might feel some vibration in the steering wheel or the car (in extreme cases, you'll see the wheel kind of hop or look as if it is out of round). For the wheel or rotor to wobble, then the lug bolts will need to be loose. If this is the case, wear on the rotor is the least of your worries.

Right, if the wheel comes off while youre driving...the rotor staying on isnt going to help. lol Youre past brakes saving you at that point.

German cars as you know by now have bolt holes instead of studs coming out of the hub. The main reason for the screw is to keep the holes in the hub and the rotor lined up to make putting the wheels on easier. Imagine trying to line up the holes on the wheel, rotors and hub. It would be a pain. Then throw spacers into the mix and you're trying to line up 4 holes.
