Looking at the picture, the back end of the emblem sure looks flat as well.

In dealership inventory, they would have the OE emblem on this car which is one standing up. If I ask for a flat emblem for a w209, the locking mechanism may be different so it may not fit.

They have started selling OE flat emblems. I bought my upright ornament for $40 here, which is pricier down in the continental US. It wouldn't hurt to call your dealership and inquire about prices.

What I have to do is to buy it, try it and return it does not fit.

The parts guys work strictly with the computer. He would enter the car's VIN, or maybe yes and model, the computer will display the hood emblem. It will show if there is more than one variation of the part. Actually, this will tell if they ever make a flat hood emblem for w203 C230 sedan.

Other flat hood emblems may work but the parts guy would not know in any certainty.

I personally am not a fan of the start on the grill for our cars, it looks too large and out of place. but its her taste so she can do what she likes.
I tried taking my grill off to plastidip it, and I couldnt get it fully off. There is some tab like things on the side holding it in that I cant get off. And I think there is something on the bottom that I cant get. I took off all of the bolts that I saw. I wish there was pictures or a video of somebody taking it off.

Lol I don't remember any tabs at all when I replaced mine. There's a small piece of plastic that tries to hold it upright but that's about it.

The DIY you posted was for coupes. Sedans have it much, much easier. The grille is held onto the hood by six 5/16th bolts. It's a two minutes job. Just make sure not to drop any into the engine bay!

I have never seen how it is on the sedan so I didn't know. Thanks for the info though!
