Upgrade older 2001 c320 instrument cluster to new w203 cluster
I found this on craigslist im buying it asap since my lcd is dieing. Will this work and fit?

I remember reading around somewhere on here that an upgrade from a pre-facelift to facelift instrument cluster was impossible due to electronic differences. Not to mention that the instrument cluster has the mileage of the car stored in it and if the mileage on the cluster and the mileage in the car's computers don't match then the odometer will not display any mileage at all, but again, it's not possible to plug and play a facelift instrument cluster.
From my understanding, a w209 CLK cluster would technically work in there if you wanted to change looks, but again, the mileage issue arises and can only be fixed by buying a brand new cluster for $1000 and having it coded to your car, there was also some complicated procedure to make it work here on the forums with a used one, i think.
If the only issue is the screen fading which I had too, you can buy a new screen here:
