Thumbs up Laurel wood on my Coupe - Installed

I got the Laurel wood to replace the center console aluminum today. It took about an hour to take the old out and 40 minutes to install the wood pieces. I like it better, more like a Mercedes should be.
I will be making a how to for Buellwinkles web site soon, I took lots of photos.

Of course the aluminum will be up for sale soon
Also the all leather auto shift knob.

Looks nice! I wish someone would retrofit the Charcol cinamorra, that stuff is beautiful. If you want a more up scale look, invest in a Climatronic. The LED display is worth it, even if you get one that only blows cold air. Also, what shifter are you getting? The 500 dollar custom AMG one? Hehe

I think the wood on the doors is completey different from the sedan to the coupe. The coupe door is wider and non of the parts interchange, hence not buying the wood. The wood covering the window switches has 4 switches for the sedan, the coupe only has 2 power windows

I am getting the solid laurel wood shifter $69 from ForMy Mercedes, and the center console cover. His prices were the best I could find.

The strange thing is on the buttons for my coupe there was only one 1 pug in and 4 wires coming out of it.

The sedan had buttons for the rear sun shade and heated seats both sides

I am selling in the the classified forum to the highest bidder. You being in Rosemead I could deliver it to you, if you are the highest bidder.

I know how much I would like to get, how much are you willing topay?

I just have to coment on your post
looks like cheap plastic.
You are posting on the MBWorls forum, so can we assume you own a Mercedes? There are only two MBs with aluminum trim that I know of, the C Class Coupe and the C32. So by process of elimination you probably own a MB with wood trim.

So what is cheap plastic about STOCK MERCEDES WOOD TRIM? A
Exactly the same wood as in a $45,000 C 320! These are not the glue on cheap stuff.

Me I don't favor the aluminum look because I have owned other MBs that all had great looking real wood trim. So why the comment?

goingbrabus,
I have all the parts number for the aluminum trim, since I am picking up my second air inlet and some other stuff at Caliber Motors tomorrow I will ask what these prices are. I have heard the list is over $1200 for the aluminum and more than that for the wood trim. Better to know the real list price. Don't worry, I would never sell the pieces I have for sale for $1200, perhaps to a rich oil sheik

I spent an hour today at Performance Auto in Van Nuys, they have great prices for MB stuff. The bi-xenons are less than $1300 when you order when they have the 15% off sale going.

I spoke with Raul Ramos and Earl for close to an hour. Found out they are always sending people to Germany to get better prices and custom pieces for us MB people. My Coupe has the leather 3 spoke steering wheel. Now tha I have a wood trim, I was looking at several of their great looking wood trimed steering wheels. Found out they can get a custom 3 spoke steering wheel with Laurel wood that matches my wood trim, and best of all the air bag and the leather will all match

I just thought they were so responsive and easy to work with. I have bought things fro my other MBs in the past, and some stuff for the Coupe. Just great to deal with.

I don't like the wood either, but I give you an "A" for the job. It looks clean and if you like it, thats all that counts.

I am not 100% satisfied with the Aluminum either, don't get me wrong, but I really hate the look of wood in most cars.

Now, as for the wood steering wheel...A+, I love that. I think the wheel changes the entire feel of the car. Again, I wouldn't get the wood wheel with aluminum interior, but I would with the wood interior or black plastic, like most cars have.

Good job with the swap.
