P0422 and P0432? Need help ASAP

I got the engine code read to me at autozone and it read P0422 and P0432? I do not understand one bit of this ha. I'm a noob still. I did try to clean out MAF but the engine code did not turn off? How do I get the code to come off? Autozone wont take it off for legal purposes, which is understadable. Is the car supposed to automatically reset?

What do I need to look at or buy when these codes come up?

Thank you guys for your help

You don't need to open a new thread about your issue, once you've opened one already. Pelican Parts responded to your other thread, as so did I.

You need to bring your car to a MB dealer or an independent MB repair shop.

No need to take it to a mechanic if I can fix it myself. I was just seeing if anyone has had the same problem and how did they fix it.

Answer

All the data you should need is on the first thread you started.

The hands on diagnosis is critical, unless you have unlimited money.

These cars are getting old, so there's a very good chance that any issues you may have are not unique. Meaning, at least try to do a search before starting a thread. Otherwise, you're just going to **** people off, and they might not be as nice about answering your question the third or fourth time you do this.

I'd suggest getting a scanner, btw. One less than $100 would be fine - that way, you'll be able to clear the codes yourself. Sometimes, the car will just hiccup, and if you clear the error, it won't come back, and you'll have "fixed" the issue.

Thanks man, yeah, I tried to search, but either it is the same code, but a different model of car or start naming other parts of the code that I am not familiar with. I just want to know the steps of what I should check for before I go start spending money that I do not need to spend. Also mercedes aren't hard to work on and don't want to get charged up the a** from a mechanic when the work can easily be done yourself. just as long as I know what to look for. I'm coming from a Honda S2000 and that was my baby and it was easy to work on as well. the MB is a little more advanced with the technology, but still manageable just as long as I know what to look for and what to do. Not used to a V-6 either.

also, could those codes be because of a fueling problem? I got this car Monday of this week and I threw in Costco 91 octane Gas and then the car gave me a check engine the next day. I heard after I threw it in that sometimes these cars are picky with the gas you put in, so use chevron always. Is that true? Because the codes read oxygen problems.

Going through this now on my E....

Check the following:

Exhaust Leaks
Loose/faulty O2 Sensor
O2 Sensor poor connection
O2 Harness is shorted
MAF problem
Bad CATS

As others have said, get a scanner and log what the O2s are reading AFTER the cat.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but did you ever get your issue fixed? I am pulling the same codes and like you I am trying not to pay an arm and a leg paying for it. I am gonna start with upstream 02's and pray that's it. I was just curious of what your fix was.
