Fuse 8 for 2003 c240 4matic
I have a 2003 MB c240 4matic and the remote key stopped working. IR still works. I checked the fuses associated with remote key and found Fuse 8 in the trunk that powers Anti theft alarm (SE) and remote boot/trunk release (according to the fuse map) burnt out. I replaced it and checked it again and it burnt out too. It burns brand new fuses instantly when I install them. I have no idea what the problem could be. Any ideas?

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
You have a short circuit causing the fuse to expire when plugged in.
You need to disconnect the loads for that fuse to find the problem.
It could be a problem with wiring that has been drawn across a sharp edge or damaged during other service procedures.
You will need a manual to discover where the devices are located.
The trunk release has a history of being a trouble maker. You might disconnect that first and check if the short has been cleared.
