Angry Upgrade from standard MB Radio to MB Comand Unit but does not power

Hi,

I have recently upgraded my MB radio to the MB comand unit however the comand unit does not power on!!

When upgrading I tested my previous radio and it was working however when unplugging it and plugging in the comand unit it was not powering up, no logo no nothing!!

Anyone experienced this issue?

I don't think its fuse related as my previous MB radio powers up.

Thanks for the help in advance!!

Did you get a COMAND for your chassis nr? They fit but are not identical. Did you get one for your country? Are you attempting to use a D2B in a MOST car or vice-versa? The fiber optic systems are not interchangeable. Including your location and model year can be helpful when asking a question about optional equipment.

I generally test units on the workbench before taking the time to place them in the dash. Are you sure the unit was working when you received it?

It should be a simple matter to test the voltage on the B+ lines in the car. Never assume the fuse is good. It only takes seconds to measure it.

Sorry for not including all information... How can I check if the part is for my chassis nr?

My location is UK, London and the car in question is a Mercedes C180 2005.

I have attached an image of the actual model number to this
thread...

I have not come up with anything... How do I tell if my car is MOST or D2B and how do I tell if this unit is for MOSt or D2B without opening the dash??

If your car is MY 2005 it is probably MOST fiber optics.

You can look at the fiber optic connector in the trunk to be sure:

Skylaw posted this on another forum to distinguish D2B from MOST:

I have been unable to determine if the COMAND you have is MOST.

Thanks for the response,

Well it most probably is a MOST as the cable that was in my previous device fitted perfectly...

not sure as to what the issue could really be, so I am open to suggestions and help!!
