2005 C230
c230 won't turn over

I started having trouble with my 2005 c230, 91k miles, with a rough idle last fall, and some limp-home modes last fall. Changed the battery, and the conductor plate in the transmission and the limp-home and weird shifting issues went away, but then the rough idle went from start, to really bad all the time. Turns out the timing chain had stretched a full link and skipped a tooth, and had low compression in cylinder 4.

MB dealer refused to touch it without rebuilding the whole engine to the tune of $9k! So it sat in the garage DOA for the winter.

I just got a new timing chain installed, including some TLC to the head and valves. Just got it all re-assembled, and it started for about 10 seconds, then died, and won't start again.

Here's what I do know- it's getting fuel, and it's getting spark.

Weird things that I've never noticed... Throttle body is making a weird buzzing noise when the key is in the on position. When I disconnect the connection to the throttle body, it stops. I have a brand new TB (one of the things I replaced to try to correct the rough idle, to no avail), and it makes this noise with both the old and new one.
Also, the cranking seems to sound odd. Maybe it's just because it's not trying to start, but it sounds faster than it should- seems like something is spinning down - this sound keeps going after the drive belt stops moving - so I assume the starter isn't bad, as the crankshaft is turning.
it also has a new cam position sensor on the intake cam.

Also have no new codes, since it never starts- nothing new to help track down the current issue.

It seems like a sensor or computer issue at this point, but open to suggestions!

Is there any compression in any of the cylinders? Cranking faster is a bad sign, it might mean the timing is way off - the chain might have skipped more than a tooth this time.

2005 C230
Not sure about compression- may have to go get a test kit tomorrow and check it out. I did check the timing and both cams are still perfectly aligned with the crank at TDC, so it doesn't look like it's still okay.
