E-brake problems 2005 w203 ss

Hello

i searched the forum and didnt find anything regarding my issue. a while back i engaged the e-brake on my car as i was parked on a hill. when i hit the release lever it sort felt like it pulled too fast, not solid. well now when i try to engage the e-brake with the foot lever nothing happens.

when i did my rear brakes i noticed the e-brake shoe engages then disengages when i hit the foot lever. i looked behind the dash and see the wire from the release handle is not fully strained, sort of dangly. has anybody experienced something similar? if so can you point me on the correct direction? i dont park in many hills so i dont use the e-brake that often, but i would like to fix it if possible. thanks!

the cable broke probably, the same thing happened to me. except my cable just came loose so i just put it back into place. open it up underneath and see what it is.

Usually your issue is caused by one of these two cables breaking.
