Need help with identifying a loose part on the strut, and a missing plastic box?

This is my first Benz, so some things are new to me.
I'm working on cleaning up the car and putting back the car to tip top shape.
Today i was working on the suspension and engine bay, I noticed there was a couple of things that were wrong, first one, this part i'm holding in the picture is wiggling , I know it probably shouldn't, but before I tighten it I had to make sure if it should be loose like that ? and also what is it's function ?!

Second part, There's this black plastic that is loose above the patiry, I know for sure it's missing a top part to lock it into place, what is this part called ? I think it holds some sort of filter or water drain to keep dirt and water from going into the cabin air blower

I can't name it, or find a part number so I can buy a similar one, any help ? cheers !
If that is the only shield that came with the car, you are missing the plastic shield over the battery. That piece also contains the cabin air filter. Might be part number A 2038300440.

Regarding the strut top nut, you can try tightening it, i don't remember the exact torque but it should be tight. However, I suspect it won't help the wigglyness, you will most likely need to replace the strut bearing, there is excellent information on this forum on how to go about that.

And I'll get the plastic box checked. I thought the cabin filter was under the dash ? Both cases I have to get a replacement cause I don't like keeping I wide open like that

I'll do my reading about the torque and get things bolted there

Thanks for the help , really appreciate it
