'07 c230 Sport Sedan exhaust?

So, I've noticed on perhaps different 2007 c230 Sport Sedan MBs that the exhaust sticks out noticeably, however it's different with my car and I don't know why. No record(s) of any crashes that I'm aware of; clean title.

I noticed in history of the car that it was in California (I'm in Texas), so maybe something was done to pass something/some things involving emissions? I don't know..

Why might the exhaust be recessed rather than protruding, or protruding more-so?

I also went ahead and put in for AutoCheck, and it came up with a score of 92. "Your vehicle checks out! There have been no accidents reported to AutoCheck for this 2007 Mercedes-Benz C Class C230 (omitted). AutoCheck receives its accident data from government sources and independent agencies, and based on the information available to us, we have found that no accidents have been reported on this vehicle. Not all accidents or damage events are reported to AutoCheck."

So what's the deal with the exhaust? Ideas?

I would guess it was run in to something and pushed in or someone decided to change it.
Have you looked underneath it for signs of damage or bends?
If some one damged it and did not report it then it would obviously not show up on in any checks

Thanks for the response. I probably could go underneath and take a look. The car was just taken in recently to a Mercedes-Benz place and diagnostics was done on it as well as tranny related stuff, however there was maybe no mention to me or anything I noticed on paperwork I got that brought up about a wreck or regarding exhaust. I don't know why the exhaust is like that.

Thats odd, i myself have a 07 w203 and my exhaust tips are noticable from the rear... maybe some exhaust pipes had been modded before you bought the vehicle? look under the car and check for welds to see if the exhaust has been modified?

+1 looks like it was modded prior to your purchase
